Biggest Salti session ever to launch Salti Active Canberra
The biggest Salti session ever made a big splash at Gungahlin Leisure Centre last week as the Salti Active Canberra program was officially launched in Canberra.
Joined by local sports stars, media, VIPS and newly trained Salti instructors, the 50 metre pool was filled with our multi-coloured Salti Floats, getting more than 27 people moving in a fun and enthusiastic workout on water, presented by two of our new instructors!
The Salti Active Canberra program has been made possible after receiving funding from the ACT Government's department of Sport and Recreation, helping to establish Salti Active at aquatic facilities in both Gunghalin and Tuggeranong from later this month.
Mikaela Ruef – UC Capitals, Maddison Rocci – UC Capitals and Amy Yates – ACT Meteors Cricket participating in the launch at Gungahlin Leisure Centre.
Minister for Sport and Recreation, Yvette Berry is pleased to see the program encouraging more people to get active and to make it easier for people to get involved, particularly the people that remain underrepresented in sports and general physical activities. She's shared that sport and physical activity offers a vehicle to improve gender equality, break cultural barriers, and improve social outcomes for the community—and participation is key.
Lisa Giacomelli, YMCA NSW Chief Operating Officer joined us for the event and is really excited to be offering new and diverse programs to engage the wider community and provide different ways for people to get active.
Jo, Salti co-founder sharing in the excitement to see our vision of contributing to creating happy, healthy communities being recognised with the support from the ACT Government.
Salti classes will start at Gungahlin Leisure and Lakeside (Tuggeranong) with free come and try open session, after which Salti will become a regular group fitness program at each facility.
